DAY I
Strength
"What's black? I've been trying to figure this out since I've been in the business. I don't know how to sing black-and I don't know how to sing white, either. I know how to sing. Music is not a color to me. It's an art."

Day II
Proud
"I'm very proud to be black, but black is not all I am. That's my cultural historical background, my genetic makeup, but it's not all of who I am nor is it the basis from which I answer every question."

DAY III
Worth It
"Everything is worth it. The hard work, the times when you're tired, the times where you're a bit sad... In the end, it's all worth it because it really makes me happy. There's nothing better than loving what you do."

DAY IV
Blessings
“I’m most proud of the blessings that God has bestowed upon me, in my life. He’s given me the vision to truly see that you can fall down, but you can still get back up. Hopefully I’ll learn from my mistakes and have the opportunity to strengthen and improve the next thing I do.”
